In the spirit of PHers seemingly having an answer to everything.....

Can anybody recommend a way for me to get some art valued for insurance purposes? In the past I have just guessed a nominal value but wouldnt mind a more accurate figure. Been doing the usual searches but thought there may be someone on here who might have a suggestion.

Thanks in advance.

While we are on the subject, do recessions affect the price of antiques/Art etc as much as everything else?

From the values I've seen put on contemporary art,it would appear that you think of a number and put a nought on the end...smile

If it is that contemporary, why not get in touch with the artist, or publishers.

Thanks - I've seen this. I think Bonhams do it too but I'm trying to find someone to do a "home visit". The paintings are too big to take in anywhere. Plus they would have to be properly crated etc. will keep searching - thanks for all the replies so far.
