I am swapping the standard fiter with a sport filter, how do you get into the air fiter box to do the swap,have removed the rubber pipe between the throttle body and fiter box, etc.Does the box split so you can get the old filter out, have tried to split it but a bit wary of breaking the plastic around the filter box.

You need to take the wheel off and remove the wheel arch liner. There are 2 spring clips on the left hand side of the air box and a hinge/lip on the right side. Mine was a pig to get back in place after changing the air filter.

Bloody hell! You need to remove the wheel and arch liner just to replace a paper element?! I've never had a proper look into the 111R engine bay. It must be pretty tight in there...
