When is a late payment a late payment?

I ask in relation to credit-worthiness, I always wait for the first (or even second) red bill for gas, electric, water - does paying these late affect my credit rating? Its silly i suppose, trying to save maybe 1 month's interest on the cash but every penny helps at the moment!

If you paid by monthly direct debit and had both services with the same company you would probably get a bigger discount than waiting for a red bill you know

IIRC late payments on a formal credit agreement (credit card, loan, HP) will get marked on your credit record.

For informal stuff (bills,etc) this would not happen, unless it went to court and judgement was found against you.
