For some reason the office has been totally dead since monday, with absolutely no work to do. It's not that there is a lack of work underway by the department but it's gone from 100+ hour weeks to very, very quiet...

Yesterday I had to bill 7 hours time down to pure "admin" which obviously doesn't earn the company any money and it looks as if today will be another 7 hours of "admin".

I'm currently doing anything I can to string out the time, god knows what this would have been like without the internet!

It's quiet at my end too, though I work in design so it's never really what you'd call busy! smile

Sort of, i've been told off for doing something (thought i'd pick up some more skills to put on my CV), so i'm currently doing nothing waiting to do something. Nowt as queer as bosses.

My work is just about holding but it's like waiting for a tidal wave to hit, or has it already, when will we feel the ripple effect ? Everybody's very wary at the moment.

I'm busy roughly 2 hours of every day, if you string everything together.

Apart from that... type

Currently working my notice period - finishing Friday.

Been doing nothing for 3 and a half weeks now.

Very.
Very.
Bored.

Have been revising anything I think will be useful at the new place but other than that.. just Google News, Wiki and PH

I'm run off my feet. It doesn't help that I'm on leave on Friday and next week so I'm busy trying to get the urgent things done. Then I know I have a stack of work to come back to. I do like being busy but at the moment I just don't have enough time.

Pretty quiet here too. We had a meeting yesterday, the boss said we were no longer allowed any admin/research time due to it losing the company too much monies. So, there's no work, what do we do? confused

Just checked the timesheet system, there's no job number for gaming. Anyone got any ideas how I can pass my time?

We got an email recently saying engineers are booking too much time to admin. Unless you actually work in admin, you are now not allowed to book any more than an hour a week to it.

Next we get an email saying we must allocate our full weekly hours to something. There is no cost centre on the time-sheet for scratching your arse waiting for something to come in, nor are we allowed to go out brown-nosing to clients for more work and booking it to marketing. Next thing we get an email saying we are blowing fees!

You can't feckin' win!

Having several quiet days. But when you're self employed it sucks!

I've got three paper rounds to do but my old family adage of "Never do today what you can put off till tomorrow" is alive and kicking so I'll, er, do them tomorrow!
