Just got back from New York and thinking that it just has not got what Londons got, theatre, museums, nightlife, quality restarants and the obvious history in fact I after 10 years of travelling I doubt if any city can touch it----that's my 2p's worth

New York really has nothing over London anymore.

Sometimes it's not the nightlife, theatres and restaurants that make a nice city, it's the peope.

And for that reason, London probably isn't the best.

Doesn't Rich1231 live there?

Well yes, nothing really beats london for mindless vandolism, car theft, crime and drunken street fights.

There are quality places such as south africa for a little more direct crime such as shootings and the like, but London is defninitely 'best' for the general low life stuff.

wink

London has it all but it is difficult to define what best is! I havnt been to Tokyo which I think culturally may be a bit different. Brussels has the best beer, Istanbul is amazing, Paris is nice, Venice is romantic the list goes on...but London does pretty much have it all. wink I do live there!

London as a place to visit and work is fantastic.

I would not live there again however.

Have you been to any other cities?

What about Vancouver, Melbourne, Sydney, Hong Kong, Copenhagen, Florence, Edinburgh, Cape Town or Barcelona, I think any of those would be 'better' to live in than London.

London is way down on my list of favourite cities. Though NY is lower, so I guess I agree with you in that respect.

Barcelona is a fantastic city. Recently been there for the 4th time.

I'll also add San Fransisco to the pot.

Umm... did I just read that you are claiming that New York is lacking in Theatre, Nightlife and Restaurants? Museums, yeah, you got us there but I would think that we are at least in the running.

Sounds like you spent time in Schenectady or Utica.

Which New York did you go to??

No theatres, restaurants or galleries?

Are you on crack??

NYC is like friendlier version of London with cheaper, better food and nicer people.
