Replacement VW Keys?
Discussion
Alright, this may be an idiot question so please bear with me.
I've just picked up my Polo (55 reg, current model) yesterday but as it turns out one of the keys was lost by the previous owner and the one that's left is all scratched on the casing. I'm told it should be about £25 for a new key and all they require is the chassis number, would that be accurate?
Also is there a limit on the amount of keys I can request, and how long does it take to get them?

Phoned Specialist Cars (local VW Dealer) this afternoon, they first wanted the registration to see if it was in their system (it wasn't, my registration went on on monday) gave them the old reg, it popped up immediately. They asked if it had remote central locking or key central and I can expect a call in 3 working days to collect and have it coded. Seems alarmingly easy.
had this problem when I bought my wifes gti, ...what a rip off! couldn't get rid of the car fast enough
after that and a few other things, I like you bought with one key missing thinking it wasn't a big deal , thing that got me was the dealer could't even give me a definite price over the phone or didn't want to as I think he was embarrased by 130£ estimate.
