I have to click "best money I've ever spent - no regrets" even though mine were actually done for free on the NHS. I was short sighted and toying with the idea anyway, and then had the misfortune of an eye condition (map dot dystrophy (sp)) whereby the resolution was to have the eyes lasered anyway.
However, even if I had had to pay for it, I'm sure I would still be clicking the same. Fantastic.
No more
- glasses steaming up when you walk into a club
- faffing with bloody contact lenses
- trying it hard to see in the rain when paying hockey
- having to wear what looks like a microwave on your head when skiing (extra large ski-goggles to cater for glasses)
The -ves
- Sometimes a bit of dazzle night driving, but tbh over the years (7 or 8 now) this has now gone
- Dry eyes if woken in the middle of the night. Needs a min or 2 to feel ok, really
- Smelling your own eye balls burning during the process

I've worn contacts for 18 years and glasses for 10 before that. I was thinking of getting my eyes lasered and know a few people who have with good results.
I was Googling it for pros and cons when I found a site where some-one said they were concerned that their laser-surgeon wore glasses. It turns out that there is a small chance (but real) that it can make your vision worse to a degree where it cannot be corrected and as laser-surgeons rely on their sight to do their job, they don't risk it.
I know it's a small chance, and call me a wuss - but I decided that contacts and glasses weren't so bad after all.

Absolutely no regrets. It is life changing. Waking up in the morning and being able to see is amazing. Prior to surgery I could not focus on anything beyond 10 inches away. I'm looking forward to going swimming too. It is the best investment I ever made.
