Are Radio 4 Listeners Deaf?

I have been noticing more and more when in traffic it isn't the youngsters that are blasting the stereos, but it seems the Radio 4 listeners are always the ones deafening themselves.
Is this purely as they are all getting on, so a bit deaf?
Has anyone else noticed this?
No, it's because they constantly skip between the studio with a good microphone turned up to ten and the interviewee on 1989 Motorola PAYG with a duff battery being held on the other side of a motorway from where they are speaking so everytime they cut back to the studio you go deaf! Is this purely as they are all getting on, so a bit deaf?
Has anyone else noticed this?

With a name like that all I can do is laugh.I was in traffic last wed and I could hear Radio 4 through my car window and his Discovery's closed windows. Now that is damn loud.
