Just moving from a fully furnished place into a barren, empty apartment. The place is stunning, with river views and even a restaurant on the ground floor yum

Trouble is, I've got naff all to put in it. At the moment I have the best bed in the WORLD and my X-Box... Impressive huh? hehe

This place is so nice it'd be a shame to put some crappy hand-me-down stuff in there. I want to get the place looking really smart and contemporary but i'll be buggered if I know where to start laugh

Had a look at the usual suspects like DFS, Ikea and Habitat but all the main pieces of furniture are astronomical! A grand plus for a sofa... Don't get me wrong, I'm not tight, but fuharrrkin' hell yikes

I could basically do with some ideas. I know I want to get a huge telly and a fat leather sofa, but I don't want the place just reeking of testosterone - I do entertain the odd female (and sometimes the odd females) from time to time hehe

What's going to look good? It's a top floor 2 bed place, all modern fittings but it's got low beamed ceilings (kinda bleached out wood) - It's a converted 18th Century Mill cool

I've had loads of stuff from these guys before

http://www.interiorsdirect.uk.com/about.php

Great quality and reasonable prices.

You don't pay for slimy salesmen to chase you round the shop and you won't end up paying £1000 for a £200 sofa just to cover the free interest free and crappy adverts.

A large plasma TV is of course a prerequisite.

ooooooh I love interior design, spent a fortune on my house..lol

Well it has to be personal to you, its very easy to go to ikea or habitat buy some random things and make your house look like a showroom! Do you have something you like? (other than girls and odd women)

Tell you what, give me £500 and one day and I will sort it for you wink

If you don't want to pay too much then www.dwell.co.uk are pretty reasonable.

A grand isnt bad for a leather sofa, if you dont want to pay that then look at fabric instead.

PS Gaaaaay. biggrin

Dwell (as mentioned) or www.shopdekko.com are good for budget stuff, or go all out at http://www.macandmacinteriors.co.uk/index.php?gcli...

Now this is a handy unit from Dwell - £425 and it would make my lounge a hell of a lot more tidy.

Actually the Oak one is in the sale at £295

Ahhhhhh thanks guys!! Have been after some coffee tables for a while and have just not seen the right thing, that place looks like it has what we need! Alas they're not in stock but hopefully will be by the end of the month..

Back OT...

We got our sofa's from here;
http://www.intosofa.com/

Mainly because we wanted red cord and couldn't find what we wanted and thought at this price they'd be a good interim buy - turns out the quality is way better than expected and after 2 years show no signs of wear, cushions flattening and the cats scratching doesn't show. Plus it means it's easy to move as you can disassemble easily.

That site looks great. Cheers Bint me old treacle wink

Did you see the faux leather when you chose yours? I kinda fancy it but worried it's going to be cheap and nasty. Great prices on the fabric ones though smile

I did get swatches for all fabrics before I bought - recommend you do that first - and the faux leather was actually pretty good just not what we wanted or would suit our house.

Oh and for fook off bachelor plasma TV's - talk to Der. MOH bought his 42" Pioneer off him about 6 months ago. Also nifty custom built media centre to complement it (not from Der).

Oh and your place looks fabulous and I'm quite jealous!
