American Warship: "err. Roger that."

There are hostages on board, and for the authorities to do nothing would be abhorrent.

What do you suggest? I've been thinking about it, and don't know what to do (but I have every confidence in the PH diplomats/lunatics)...

I thought this was precisely the sort of thing naval special forces trained for.

Can't exactly win though can they.

If they stormed the boat, killed a couple of hostages by accident, but killed the pirates, they would be called cowboys. Then someone would come along and say "pirates will never take hostages in the future because of their actions".

Some of them could be girls and if you had seen a Ukrainian girl you would withdraw that statement! smile

Pay them $12,000,000, the US have loads of money at the moment... next week it'll be worth peanuts anyway hehe

Or give them a chest of dress jewellery and chocolate coins and see if you can get away with it for long enough...

Last time they did that it was called Operation Eagle Claw.

Maybe we could lend them a few chaps from the regiment.

Give them the money and arrest them as they paddle ashore (they can't stay on the boat forever)

Agree - I went out with a Ukranian girl a few years back. Complete stunner.

This is one outcome that they would probably accept - and our government would fall over itself to offer eek

Just get the SBS or Seals delivered to the approximate positon of the vessel via a small sub or something, from looking at the photos there are afew ladders hanging of the vessel. With a bit of a distraction I am sure these guys could get onto the vessel.

We don't want to be paying any ransom, these guys have already had either $13 or $30m this year.
