Can anyone recommend any websites that sell glasses at sensible prices?

Got a pair from www.speckyfoureyes.com took about three weeks to arrive (probably from some sweat shop in China) but were good value and do the job.

"Full rimmed for £12". You can't argue with that.

Couldn't fault www.glassesdirect.co.uk , even responded quickly when I had a minor query.

The last time I looked at ordering some, there were lots of numbers / measurements that weren't on the prescription.

How'd you get around that?

Which type?

Personally I would get designer/branded ones, not to look flash, but you can go into the high street, try them on etc and if they are good for you, purchase them off the internet.

I saved £100 by going into vision express trying some hugo boss glasses, and buying them from coolframes on the internet.

The margins are spectacles are insane - apparently those £100 "designer" frames actually cost about £2.

And you tell lenses (even complicated ones) cost next to nothing as there's never an issue if they're wrong - they just order more. That's the reason I wouldn't buy online though.

Lots of things cost feck all to make, but I guess there's quality behind them too, I bought some cheapies off glassesdirect and the quality was poor, so I lost around £35-40, buy cheap buy twice IMO.
