Western Union hehe
Why the laugh? Nothing wrong with Western Union, always been fine the times I've had to get money to mates when they're stuck abroad and needing money.

Wire transfer, arrives next day, costs £12. Can be recorded by bank as arriving, so you have proof it's sent.

Western Union is fine for receiving money - you go and collect the cash and then ship the goods. The problems start when you buy car parts from Croatia... wink

It will be more than £12 to send the funds - more like £25 as they arent part of some bank sharing malarky even though they have swift and iban.

Ask if they have a euro bank account held in Germany etc - many do as lots of E.Europeans have worked in W.Europe. That will be £12 to send to.

No paypal in Croatia unfortunatly.

Maybe send them a sterling travellers cheque to cash? 2% fee the norm in croation banks (I've just come back). Cash slightly more risky (kuna can be ordered easily enough).

I used Swift or was it Iban last time I bought from him but it cost £20 as Croatia isn't in the EU. Travellers cheques sound like a good option. Someone suggested cash recorded delivery. Why is it a nono? Apart from the obvious.

Well if cash goes walkies in the post its gone for good. Isn't it technically illegal to send cash by post?

A travellers cheque can be cancelled and you get the money back if it goes AWOL. Plus its usually commission free to buy sterling cheques (at your bank).
