Facebook is a means of keeping in touch with family and friends who you don't see very often.....is that so bad?

And doesn't an email or telephone call do the same without having 2 zillion imaginary friends?

Of course it does, but that still doesn't mean it's a bad idea.
You can block your profile so that any unwanted guests/imaginary friends can't see or post any comments.

ETA and you don't have to be a teenager to use it.

My grandparents don't understand it either.

And if its keeping in touch with family and friends, how exactly are they imaginary?

It also amazing that someone who can stand Facebook would click on a thread titled 'Facebook' Anyway it is very handy for people with friends. Over the years my circle of friends have dotted themselves around the world so it's fantastic to share what everyones up to and photos of their growing families etc without having to send out emails, You can having a thread of chat going between everyone a bit like P&P but with people you like laugh
