Perhaps they really think of the taxpayers money as being "The Government's". It's not though.

It does strike me as odd that the government is investing the taxpayers money, in something (the banks) that the taxpayer himselfs seems reluctant to invest.

Oh well. The government knows best.

They're only doing it (nationalising banks) because the IMF is telling them to.
It's arguable that the IMF is on an American leash, so I suppose that's like the Americans saying, "It's not all our fault".

I seem to remember that the IMF had a hand in the whole Global Warming argument, so perhaps this is another angle on their whole "Reduction of Excess" mantra.

I'm thinking that the "Reduction of Excess" is not such a bad thing, but what I don't like is the methods by which the IMF seem to do things.

I fully accept that it's a conspiratorial viewpoint, but I think it's one there is some degree of intellectual support for. I guess I would personally weight it, at perhaps 55% truth!

They do indeed.

Really.

Wouldn't want to meet her.

She's probably a minger.

Did anyone else watch that programme on bbc4 last night about the super rich and how they dont pay tax like we do and they make risky investments as they know if it goes tits up the government will bail them out.

Bloody brilliant, i sure am happy that my tax's are going to good use.

Prudence rofl

I think the only thing I realise now is why my whole outlook fell on such deaf ears, way back when. Who would listen to me, when the whole frikkin world (literally) thought I was wrong.

Yes I feel a bit vindicated, but it's cold really, because being right way back then, doesn't make a jot of difference to who would listen to me now.

The upside, is that I'm much less worried now than I would have been had I divorced my principles.
