The government don't run the banks, why should they be held responsible if a PLC goes bust??

The weather wasn't great today but it wasn't Gordon's fault.

If they fail to stop the banking system going into melt down then surely they'd have to carry the can? Its not what they've done, its what they're are going to do (ir not)

It's the banking system that has sent the banking system into meltdown.

Who do you suggest would have a solution to this problem that is better than what the government are going to do?

So government ministers should control the boardroom decisions made by PLCs? It's a very stateist approach to think the government can control all aspects of the market.

The problem is the public thinks the government 'must act', which means the government will be forced to act which will probably just make the situation worse.
