Hello,

Landlord has arranged for Dynorod to come round and sort the drains, and will be paying. However, the bloke has come round (done fk all tbh) and won't leave without a cash payment.

Am I right in thinking he should be giving us at the very least an invoice, and arranging payment through their PO system? Surely giving the driver of a van £130 isn't right? By the end of the day he'll have about £900 in cash on him?

He is now refusing to leave without payment.

Just tell him it isn't your property, and you didn't call him...

Exactly. He doesn't havea contract with you to do the work, so you don't have to pay him.

Was my two female housemates talking to them, I went downstairs and told them that it was the landlord who booked it in, so he can pay. And here is his mobile number.

Managed to finish with 'OK, cheers poppet'. Huzzah.

Landlord is a prize wker, impossible to get hold of.

Digger.

I doubt dyno guy is pulling a fast one. After calling landlord you could always call Dyno to check on their policy and explaining situation?

More likely to be pushing a slow one.

We carry out a lot of work for private landlords, and its always a lengthy process to get them to pay an invoice. Much easier to get the tenant to pay and claim it back or withhold the sum from the rent.
