Something I am sure we all go through is being critical of our own shots and also
having a hard time deciding which shot to use when only one or two are required.

I took these this morning but cannot decide which two or possibly three to use
on my blog.

I'd be grateful if anyone one could give their top three or any critique on them?

Thanks in advance. yes

What strange mist!!

7 I think, hard to choose one :]

9 also had los of potential! thelog ruins it but without it their wouldbe lots of empty space, did you get any of just the swans with the background showing just mist?

Thanks for the reply.

On 9, at low res it's hard to see properly, but the 'log' is a depth guage.
I do have shots without it, but at a different angles, while on some, the mist is
much thicker, so there is no real back drop to them.

I'd shot it with the depth guage in having read about the 'thirds' rule.

I think you need to choose one from 1, 2 & 3 (my choice would be 1), one from 4, 5, 6 & 7 (I'd pick 4) and if you must have 3 then for me it would be 9, but I don't think it's anywhere near as strong as 1 & 4, and I'd leave it at those two.

My opinion...take it or leave it biggrin

Thanks for the feedback so far, seems like the shots divide you also? scratchchin

These were my first proper shoot with the Nikon D90, really pleased with the
additional enhancements over my entry level D40.

I've a loooong way to go to reach GetCarter's level, but it is fun leaning. yes

2 & 5 but maybe a small crop on 5 to remove a little of the top right corner so bringing the boat into the right hand third (if that makes any sense whatsoever!!!)

i like the first few, although i do find the saturation in the bricks on the houses a little too much. I'd select these and knock the saturation down a bit?

I like 2 and 8.

2 - because of the colours, contrast and a it's nice composition. Also I feel its better exposed than the others.

8 - An odd one I think but nice and sharp on the spiders web and I like the way the rails cut up the background.
