I've been with Elephant.co.uk for several years, and just before my policy was due for renewal I pondered a possible claim for accidental damage (£412). I thought their attitude would be a useful test to see what would happen, before signing up for another year.

It's a good job I did. The moment I said I might be claiming, my renewal premium shot up from £172 to £302 mad

So - looks like Elephant have blown it and I'm in the market for a new insurer. Do I remember seeing that there was one that did NCBs?

I tend to do an online quote with Tesco (to set a benchmark), and then shop around a bit. (for any kind of insurance)

Often I end up back at Tesco, but equally, often they are way off the mark.
