Not sure if this has been covered but I just found out that all businesses must have a music license to play the radio?
Apparently if you happen to be playing the radio/CD and a customer walks in and hears it, you can be fined unless you purchase a license, this includes on-hold music??

Never saw that coming, I thought the Radio was free service to air anyone can use it.

This has been around for years. type Off to find a link...

ETA: Ah! Here we are and a Direct link

1988 by the looks of things. It is always a classic quote dragged out to be shown as a new EU law, when infact they have nothing to do with it.

Yes, you do.

However, its is also a little known fact that if you simply adjust the de-modulation oscillator in the radio such that the music is played backwards, not only do the Performing Rights people have to pay you money, but if you're lucky enough to be in the midlands and tune to Kerrang! radio, then odds on you'll be able to invoke Old Nick himself to rise from Hell and appear in the reception area of your business. Which is nice.

Just turn your radio upside down. I don't believe there's any laws against 'ɯɐ/ɯɟ'.

If the general public hears anything by Westlife, the owner of the radio has to pay them £250000000 compensation.

A woman rang me the other day and asked if we had a radio license for our premises, i thought it was a wind up or a sales pitch at first, then she started asking me all sorts of questions, so i just told her to mind her own business and put the phone down.
