I'm looking at various options at present and a C4 is something I quite fancy. However, it would be my daily car.

So .... is this a good idea? What sort of mpg should I expect?

Opinions please guys and gals.

I have a C5 Coupe which is my only car and an excellent daily diver, I average 26 MPG as long as I don't go thrashing it. I'll let the C4 guys chip in about their machines though, I suspect they're more likely to get 20 MPG.

I dream of 20 mpg in my C4!!

It is supercharged and has a race spec engine so it is not surprising......

My Z06 does 20-24 mpg as a daily driver and that is with a very heavy right foot.

BTW The C4 is for sale if you are interested.

My C4 convertible averages around 18 mpg by being driven into London and being stuck on the A3 in jams. On a run, kept to around 65, it can average 25 to 30. aabove those speed it comes down to the low 20's. The C4 is a great everyday car annd is mostly totally reliable. I have owned 2 and both needed little more than service items. There are loads of variations and conditions out there to choose from, 'enjoy the chase' but don't rush into it, choose the right one for you.

I have a C4 ZR-1 which I drive almost every day. IMHO you can use a C4 as a daily driver, but it's not the most comfortable car, as it has a hard ride, is a bit rattly over the bumps and has a high sill that you have to climb over to get in and out. The autobox is more convenient than a manual if you do a lot of city driving, as for mpg that depends on how you drive, but 20 mpg is a reasonable average for a C4.

My advice - go test drive a few, and buy the best one you can afford, the newer the better.
