You can fibreglass the back of the holes and then fill the front smooth. This will of course require painting afterwards.

Huddersfield Mini Spares were selling after market arches that fit in the original holes though so perhaps worth giving them a shout.

Your Sprite will be fitted with AP 8.4" Discs so 10" wheels are out unless you invest in either a set of Cooper S 7" discs, an aftermarket set of smaller 4 pot calipers (KAD are the best here I think) or get someone to machine the disc and the caliper down to fit inside the 10" wheels, this last one isnt all that advisable though.

As Plotless said you will need to change the discs and calipers to do this. It WILL be expensive and it's advisable to make sure you connect a servo. Also 10" wheels will have to be very wide and your car lowered quite a lot to fill the Sports pack arches. I've only ever seen a few that it looked right on. You'd be better off going for a set of Group 5 arches.

Yep Wildfire bang on, something I forgot to mention, biggest width will probably be 6" so to fill out the arches you will need 1" spacers which you really dont want to use unless you like replacing bearings on a regular basis...
