Hi all, Just recovering from my wedding yesterday and my mind is obviously engaged with important issues like fitting a front splitter to my S2 111S (which took me to the church in excellent style by the way) to give it a more racery aggressive look. I want something reasonably subdued as I'm not a chav really, carbon would be good but not sure if I can sell myself the extra cost. Has anyone got any advice on whish ones are good and which are not?

Wouldnt bother mate, read some of the previous posts from people who have just got or are about to get married. The car will be gone in 3 months as the missus will persuade you that now you have a piece of paper you need an estate.biggrin

If you are considering putting aftermarket suspension on it in the future, and dropping the ride height, I would recommend you don't bother unless you live in a part of the country without kerbs, speedbumps or driveways with anything more than the most gentle of transitions between road and drive.

I had one on my Honda'd S2 and I can count the times it DIDN'T scrape on something on each drive on the fingers of one hand. After it coming loose at nigh-on 140mph at Donington and taking two 50p sized holes out of the bottom of the front clam, I was delighted to see it consigned to the bin.

Spend your £500 on something more worthwhile is my advice, or get the Alvan splitters (if you can find some) which don't foul on the floor (see Shangani's car for info).

I've had a tigga splitter on my car for the last year and a half. You WILL hit things, I guarentee, so make sure it's fitted securely and don't expect the lip to remain pristene. At standard ride height it's not too bad but makes you think twice about speed bumps and places like car parks with excessive ramps. The problem is that the splitter juts out that much more than the clam which reduces your clearance.

I think tigga's modified the design recently to reduce the lip so it shouldn't take 1cm off the clearance like it used to.

I ran one with 'slighty' lowered suspension for a while and it was a pain in the ass.
