Got a couple of Tuscans around my neck of the woods and having watched the pair of them give it the big one recentlyI couldn't help but notice the amount of smoke they threw out. Is this normal?

Depends on what oil they are running. My old Red Rose used to kick out loads whilst I was using 0W Mobil 1 stuff, but as soon as I switched to 15W it was fine.

If you want to see oil smoke, you should see my 2008 RS4 Cab when giving it some welly!

My Tuscan used to pump out a shed load of smoke when I first bought it on start up. It was using 5w40 but since then have changed to 15w60. Now doesnt at all. Now whether or no that is to do with the cylinder seals being buggered or the valve stem seals again being buggered not sure.

Personally dont care as when it goes pop will be sending it to racing green for one of their new bucket engines. Although I have done 8000 happy miles in it and it still pulls like a train.

What colour smoke?

Black smoke = fuel. Blue smoke = oil.

unrelated to TVR but made me giggle, whilst getting my wheel alignment checked an old Sierra Saphire Cosworth pulled into the bay next to my car. It was smoking like a goodun and stunk of oil.

The chap about the check the alignment was heard to shout "christ, is that a 2-stroke"

I used to be an old smoker. Gave it up a couple of years ago.

Now I'm just old.
