Anyone ever experienced their gear change action being compromised by the handbrake mech on a Griff/Chim (T5)?

Yanked my handbrake a bit hard yesterday and now cant easily get first or second with the brake fully off... pull it up a click or two and no problem so think it's a cable issue. Brake still seems fine though confused

Is the gubbins all likely to all be accessible if I remove the centre console?

You maybe be able to access some of it...on my Griffith once you lift the center console of theres a fibre glassed panel that is screwed down that can be undone and lifted up...have some picture someone will go get...

Not sure why the cable would interfere with anything mind..

Cheers... it is a weird one. I'll have a delve tomorrow, or Sun, or Mon.....
Hell, I'll just drive round the bugger as normal until I can be arsed...

Who knows... the capacity of these things to develop random unlikely faults just never fails to amaze (and piss me off)

Right, just to tidy this up in case anyone else does the same, seems I don't know my own strength redcard

Had bent the handbrake hanger that bolts to the chassis, and the ratchet pivot bolt was consequently interfering with the bolt head on the rear remote gear link... they run pretty close to each other and if your change feels a bit graunchy on the first-second side, this is well worth a squint. Good case for some button headed allen caps on those two
