This government think tank suggests that we should have random spot checks on the ecological footprint of your diet, what waste you are throwing away and what transport you use. Currently proposed for Eco towns, they're also suggesting 15mph limits within the towns and forcing residents to pay to leave to encourage people to keep journeys short and local.
Combine that with ID cards, and those that say "If you have nothing to hide..." should worry about whether they're eating the correct form of lentils, or leaving their homes too often.
Admittedly there's a fair amount of scaremongering in all this, but all these little ideas that seem sensible in isolation ("it'll make things better/safer") add up to a nightmare society - albeit with a very low carbon footprint.

Who, exactly, would choose to live in the Orwellian environment of an 'eco-town'? They're going to have to round up the chavs and bus them in, and the whole place will be ablaze within a week.
Ok, now you put it like that, I like the idea. A town where chavs are trapped and unable to escape.Gassing Station | The Pie & Piston Archive | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
