Anyone else just see that thing in the sky (10:55pm)
Discussion
Just seen going west to east across the sky was what I can only describe as either a satellite falling to earth or a weapon of some kind. Anyone else see it??
We're near Le Mans, but it was very high so probably visible from the UK.
Was too slow for a shooting star and too fast for a plane. Had a bright light (like a shooting star) at the front and a HUGE red/orange tail of fire and derbis coming out the back. From right above us until out of sight on the horizon took about 6-10 seconds.
Then about 5 minutes later at almost exactly 10:00pm (UK time) I'm sure we heard a very distant and deep booming noise....
WTF??

crazy! Maybe an asteroid/meteor or was it visibly satellite-esque?

Spooky... wonder if they ran into problems? It would fit the profile of what we just saw.Maybe these boys got lost http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/7634404.stm

The main part was just a bright light, so not visibly a satellite or rocket. The really unusual bit was just how big and orange the tail was - the nearest way to describe it was it looked like the tail from a firework rocket, but on a massive scale.
I'm now really wondering whether that Chinese rocket has come down. If it did, it may have landed near Paris! Anyone know what orbit it was taking and whether it could possibly be what we saw?
