Production run numbers.
Discussion
The numbers aren't as accurate as they appear. Some figures are deffo wrong and breaking them down by years is only a guess. For example the numbers of Griffiths, Chimaeras and Cerberas are not known exactly as all the chassis produced were combined into a simgle figure.
The table was produced for a owner to import his car into NZ and neede to prove that TVR were a low volume producer so the figures didn't need to be 100% correct and just ballpark.

Like I said when I posted them, they came from a reputable source. I'm not sure why you're so keen to discredit them...
As V8 GRF says, the chassis count is one number across more than one model and it is fairly common knowledge that the factory records were not always exactly spot on
IYGMDI know Ben Lang quite well and indeed it was he, in agreement with DO, who said that there were only 2 official Sagaris II cars built by TVR when I was speaking to them for the article on the recent preview event, clearly not what it says on the list he supplied to you. I also believe that glow worm disputed the figures for Tuscan II convertibles.
It's a well known fact that TVR didn't keep accurate production figures (
) and there are different numbers for most models from several 'official' sources quoted in books, for example the Griffith. 2445 in 'The Bible', Mike Penny's estimate of 2265 for an article in 'Classic Cars' to the figure quoted in your table, all different.
I'm pointing out that the figures supplied for your purpose only needed to indicate that TVR didn't produce large numbers of cars and as such did not need to be accurate.

Whilst not completely accurate they are a good guide and put paid to the "in the days when TVR made over 2,000 cars a year" statements.JR said:

Ask him for the figures yourself then.Personally I'm not interested in how many cars were built because they'll bear no resemblance to the number of cars still out there.
It wasn't uncommon in the late 90's to have 5.0 litre cars registered as a different model i.e. Chimaera's as Griff's etc.
We were led to believe that this was due to hitting production limits for specific models so they had to be registered as different model so as not fall foul of the smaal manufacturer exemption.

Well that's handy then, saves you making a phone call to your good mate Ben.TVR_owner said:
That they are better than what we had is open to debate, a concern is that the Sagaris figures are way over what the figures given by M Penny of 125.
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...156 Sagarii identified here by PH owners, plus 7 more 'spotted'. Assuming there are more tucked up in garages owned by non-PHers and overseas, I'd say Ben's figure is looking a better bet than Mr Penny's.
