Sound deadening
Discussion
Can anyone recommend some sound deadening material for me. My front bedroom has three exterior walls one of which has a large curtain the other two face each other and the sound is bouncing between the two so I want to install some sort of material into the back of some pictures so out of sight to reduce the echo.
Hmmm
(Forgive me if you've done this) Make sure your speakers are in the corner of the room, not facing the wall. This will have much more effect than putting material behind pictures. If you really want to deaden the room - I've used acoustic foam tiles and can let you have details. e mail me.

I would go out on a limb and say material behind pictures will have an almost zero effect.
I have a very expensive audio setup in a rectangular room, and I can tell you reflection between walls is almost zero - and that included the fact that one wall is dominated by sheet glass.
I find it difficult to imagine that reflection is having a hugely noticable effect unless you are unlucky with the dimensions. The cheapest thing to do is to install a curtain or something on one of the walls. That will stop 99% of all the sound coming into it. One wall is plenty unless you want to make the room sound dead.
You *can* get acoustic foam and the like, but unless you want to spend a huge amount of money on something which does the same job then there really is no need.
