OK, this is really bugging me - IE keeps defaulting its start page to 777search.com after a reboot despite changing in the reg HkeyCurrentuser|Software|Microsoft|InternetExplorer|main to about:blank. I am assuming there is a file being called from somewhere making the reg change back again on startup, but where?? Help!!

Thanks for that - plenty of good links from that thread to check various stuff out.

So far Ad-aware and Spybot havent found anything, although Browser Hijacker Blaster is detectibg the change at startup, but not telling me what is being called to make the change. Will continue to work my way through the links off the various sites till I find the answer! Damn spyware / adware / scumware!!!

It's a Trojan, a friend of mine has just got rid of it on his computer. I think it was Norton that got it.
