I ended up only entering in the RWYB T class and was advised i would get more runs in.
All good practice ahead of racing next year. I was aiming for my first 11 second run with an increase to 125bhp jets in the nitrous system and a bottle heater to keep the pressure up and constant. This proved a waste of money on the day as the weather was glorious.
1st run... the fuse to the fuel pump blew just after the 1/8th, engine wouldn’t run on pure nitrous so i had to coast off track and wait for a tow back to the pits. Luckily i discovered the fuse quick and pinched a random replacement from the fuse box.... not sure if its related but my windscreen wipers now stop where they like.
2nd run did feel real strong but the timing equipment failed! At this point i thought it was going to be one of those days.
3rd-5th runs were in the glorious weather we had in the afternoon, not good for power. I only got 2 runs in as there were a few mishaps such as oil spills on track which takes time to clear.
6th run and the sun had calmed behind a little cloud cover and i was getting more aggressive off line hitting full throttle as soon as possible to kick the nitrous in. This was my best run of the day.
7th and 8th were desperate attempts to at least get a personal best but i guess the expected power increase from the bigger jets in the nitrous system wasn’t there on the day. I was however proud to cut a .578 reaction on my last run (0.500 is a perfect RT).
A couple of clips of the speedo and tach...
