Took the Griff out for a rare blast last weekend and noticed the steering wheel shaking and vibrating above about 90mph on a straight smooth road. Any thoughts? Top front ball joints were recently replaced - could this be a factor?
Cheers

My Chimaera has started to do a similar thing - was going to get the wheels rebalanced to see if that sorts things out!

I had the same on my chimaera.

Check the following in this order

Wheel balance (the most likely)
Tyre tread (any flat spots)
Suspension bushes
Steering rack

Could also be run-out on the alloy wheels.

It's very common with alloy wheels.

How do you know if you have run out - well
when you have the wheels balanced look at the
wheel when its spinning (or ask the tyre mechanic)
and if it's running out - you will see it occilating.

Run out is really described as a circle that has
gone slightly oval.

Unfortunately - if the wheel is running-out there
is only 1 soulution and that's replacement.
