There's a persistent rumour on the Guido website that Ben Bradshaw is going to defect to the Tory party shortly, possibly at the start of the Tory conference.

Can anyone in the know say if this is true?

Probably not, but I think that the point that some of the Blairites start defecting to Cameron (and I think one or two minor ones will eventually) could prove to be quite siginificant.

Both for the Conservatives and for Brown
