Not always. I have a reputation for being quite agressive and arrogant at work (they pay me lots of money for it, 'cos it gets the job done!) and I know I probably come across the same way on here.
Ditto the 'keyboard warrior' jibes about technical knowledge. Sure, there are bulls
t merchants on the internet (just as there are in 'real life'), but just because you claim expertise in a subject on the internet doesn't mean that you're not an expert in practice.Aggressive people and experts use computers too.

Its the internet and frankly some of the insults and handbagging are quite fun to read....The ones that lack the humour factor, well, just read on, they matter not a jot....

I must admit, I quite enjoy it, too. 
I think that part of PistonHead's problem is that historically it was a website frequented by the owners of fast and expensive cars.
Quite a high proportion of such people are bound to be relatively successful (hence confident/aggressive) males.
There's an awful lot of ego and testosterone swilling about the place. If you can't stand the heat...
