British Banks?

Lets imagine the scenario where I'm the head of the sovereign wealth fund of Fittsterville with many trillions of dollars of oil wealth to invest.

The wise and bountiful President Bush is in the process of creating a scheme that would allow US banks to dump their toxic loans on the taxpayer, however UK and European banks enjoy no such facility.

So I would be foolish not to invest in US banks as they have a huge advantage over British banks.

So how come the shares in British banks rose yesterday?

Because the all the financial instutions (what an appropriate word) "invest" in each other so added protection for the group with the highest risk helps to protect them all ?
