They should just translate the name into Norse speak and the PC idiots wouldn't have a clue what it meant.

Nah, just a company trying (and suceeding) to get free publicity based on a non-story. The portman group don't have the power to ban the name of any drink do they?

Remember The Portman Group are the drinks manufacturers!

Never going to happen, must a quiet news day or someone wanting some publicity.

The Portman Group told BBC Scotland a complaint was being investigated.
"A complaint", singular. That means they will be checking out the persons complaint as per their complaints procedure and guidelines before doing nothing about it except giving them the "Bishops Finger".

But the reality is that the kids are already out on the rampage with their axes, and all they're drinking is Fosters and WKD milkshakes.

It's pretty clear to me that the whole sodding PC brigade are barking up the wrong tree here. It's not the label or the name. It's the very lax licencing laws, and kids with no purpose in life. If the PC brigade were to commit collectie suicide, then perhaps we could invest their wages in a future for the kids.

Currently have a gallon of my cider creation I have affectionately named "Spaz Cider" undergoing secondary fermentation.

Why Spaz, well, it's going to be roughly 12%

As for Skull Splitter, so what, they should have Fosters up for Trades Descriptions selling piss as lager.

If they come after 'London Pride' then i'm kicking off.

'Multicultural and racial equality Pride' just wouldn't look right on the label.

I drunk loads of that stuff at the Grampian beer festival many years ago and found myself up on stage with the band singing "Wild thing" to hundreds of drunken blokes with beards.

I think it should be banned.

No - they represent the major drinks manufacturers

Portman

Don't see Orkney Breweries in there...............possibly because they produce drinkable beer

Bugger - link doesn't work. Quick cut & paste

"The Portman Group's nine member companies represent every sector of drinks production and collectively account for approximately 60% of the UK alcohol market. They recognise that they have both a responsibility and a major business interest in reducing the harmful use of alcohol.

Bacardi-Martini
Beverage Brands (UK) Ltd
Brown-Forman
Carlsberg UK
Coors Brewers UK
Diageo Great Britain
InBev UK Ltd
Pernod Ricard UK
Scottish and Newcastle"

There's an ale at my drinking hole called an IPA Hop Devil. Quite appropriate considering it's 8.9%.

The most I've ever had of these is six in one night and that was one hell of a hangover the next day!!! Cracking drink though! :thumbup
