Just stumbled across the news that WipeoutHD for PS3 has finally been given a release date of 25/9/08 and will be sold for a remarkably reasonable £11.99.

As a long time HUGE fan of this series this is fantastic news!

Between the 360 and the PS3, my credit card is taking a serious raping this weather. Oh well £11.99's not going to bankrupt me......

For some reason the store updates don't come until quite late in the day, which is a pain in the arse considering how long we've all waited for this. Then again what's a few more hours when we've already waited since the PS3 came out?

Still, its incredibly good value at £12 (like Gran Turismo 5 Prologue was incredibly good value at £18), the visuals really are as incredible as they'd been raving about and it seems pretty rock-solid, so I'd say its been worth the wait!

Impressed with it so far, looks very pretty. I bet online multi-play will be a lot of fun.

Disappointed with the soundtrack though, will have to look to see if it's possible to substitute your own.

you can do IIRC. Was playing it online and it is the type of game that your eyes go after a few minutes.... Great fun though.

Also bought Burnout from the PSN. Was trying to keep it quiet but 6 emails from PSN about funding and purchasing hit our inbox as the missus was surfing before I could intercept.... I might be able to have my bks back next week frown

And Burnout. After getting Tiger Woods 09 and Grid last week.... And some new camera bits and pieces.

It's all win. The only thing I didn't like was the soundtrack so I replaced it with a copy from the original game.

Nuts hard though, struggling on level 4.

This game is starting to wind me up, I guess I'm too old.

If I get 2:20 on a race and come in 8th, the guy in 3rd will get 2:18, so if I race again and get 2:15 the chap in 3rd will get 2:12 and I'll still come last, after 200 goes and I've gotten my time down to 2:05 the chap in 3rd is still quicker!

There's less than 4 seconds between 1st and last (me) and by the 2nd I'm having other cars hit me from behind suggesting I've been lapped but it takes 30 seconds per lap so shouldn't be anyone there.

Guess I just suck.
