Air Filter + crank case vent filter

Hi all,

More questions I'm afraid...

Assuming my S passes its MOT and the recent problems are a thing of the past (Oh how much do I hope this...), I think I need a new air filter.

The current one is around 5 years old and I noticed some of the 'foam' is sort of crusty like it has melted and fused together. Not sure what would have caused this, perhaps just age?

Anyway, I believe the filter is a Pipercross C3004, which is easily available. I also believe I should take the opportunity to fit a crankcase vent filter instead of the current tube running to the air filter? I understand that a 13mm one is needed. I am also led to believe (reading here) that even someone of my dubious mechanical ability should easily be able to do all this!

Looking online, this site seems to sell both for a good price.

Is this all I should need or am I missing anything?

You can just replace the normal filter of course. I didn't bother with the breather filter as there was no sign of any muck inside my normal airfilter - as you said they just start to fall apart with age!
