I bought three wiimotes for multiplayer fun on the wii, the day after it was launched. Within two weeks, the accelerometers had stopped working on 3/4 of my wiimotes!
I called tech support and they told me to hit them (apparently they stick a little when new). That fixed them, and it has never happened again!
