Hi

Since I have got the Vixen up and running, I have been having quite a problem with fumes being drawn into the car when I am driving with the window open.

They do seem to be exhaust related. Is it possible for fumes to be dragged from the back of the car into the window?

My exhaust has swept up style rear pipes so I was wondering if this could be causing the problem or at least making it worse. The rear of the car does become quite stained by exhaust dirt after a run. Perhaps the exhaust fumes are being put right into turbulent air behind the car with this style of exit pipe.

Does anyone else have experience of this? Should I change to a straight exit pipe?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Paul.

The usual cause is the seal around the rear lights. I resealed mine and the problem has now virtually gone.

You may also find that if your gearstick and handbrake gators are not sealed, you may get fumes up from there.
