Hey All
I need a bit of advice.

I am thinking of upgrading the brakes on the car and was leaning towards Willwood brakes. Does any one know the part number for the caliper and discs that will bolt directly on to the car or would it be worth buying the full kit at £600 from rally design. Or is there another supplier that will do them cheaper?

Or do I just upgrade the brakes to the cosworth caliper and disks. For £215 all in ?

Car is a 94, 4.0 chim

Regards Matt

think this what you want (see below) I upgraded to Willwoods first, but then changed to TVR AP race units, much better

I'd agree with that...and it's less bother with the insurance declaration because it was offered as a factory upgrade.

You will need 16" rims as a minimum though and it's a very tight fit even then

I've got these from Compbrake, bloody stoptastic! Doing the rears this winter as mine seems under braked at the rear now.

Put on the 5 stud hubs, which will allow for Tuscan S brakes, Tamora rears, and a set of Spiders? TVR Power (I believe) were doing this for £1500?

I put the Willwood 4 pots on and (I think) 300mm discs. Got them from Tower View. Awesome stopping. But they do snag the wheel. I had to fit spacers. I would go a bit smaller diameter disc if you can. Insurance is not a problem - A Manning said that better brakes is a good thing and no charge.

Firstly my Willwoods where designed for track use and therefore had no seal protection (they needed to be re-built every 18 months) the TVR AP set up stop the car so much better, (also on the tart front, they look better as well)

another vote for wilwoods, they look good too, although a tight fit on the standard 15inch estorils on the front

thanks Mark, what does resealing mean ? if you were to put a percentage on the difference in performance between to two what would it be ? do you mind me asking what the tvr brakes cost ? are you selling the willwoods by the way ?

Brought a set from Hans a couple of years back.....Bloody excellent Mod from a top guy.....The difference in stopping power is fantastic and the balance isnt upset either..

Need the 16's though to fit them in.

Think mine must be uber stoppers... I definitely need more than the 273 at the rear now.

Just had a complete upgrade for my Griff using the Hi Spec kit (billet 4 front and rear)- had it installed by Leven over in Basildon. Still bedding in, however impressions so far are that the brakes have a good progressive feel and great stopping power. As I've had anthracite SP12's fitted by Silverstone Performance, there was (so Simon told me) some adaptation of the rear brakes to make the correct fit. Overall, really pleased with the look and feel of the new kitbiggrin

I'm fitting one of those as well. No point wasting all that braking energy, it's good, but I want more biggrin
