Today I had reason, not through choice, to take the Griff through Basildon. Never have I had so much hassle than today - WTF is wrong with people in Basildon ? If you drive TVR - keep out of Basildon. And if the guy who wanted some in the black Escort by the Plough and Tracter is reading (if he can) - WTF was you thinking - did you really think you stood a chance against a TVR Griff ? You need help pal.

Chill out, dude, you know you can do it, so do you have to prove it to those who can't? You're smarter than that (and them). Relax

I had a "maxxed" out golf next to me at traffic lights giving it large, I just pulled away normally and let him leave a couple of mm's of rubber on the road. Ain't worth the effort.

Had some arrogant slapper in a Peugeot 206 try to outdrag me between a set of lights and a roundabout that she wanted to turn left at. First she slows down behind me, then realises the r/h lane is clear at the lights so she'll stop there instead. Then she rolls forward a few feet over the white line, just to get a bit further down the road than me before the lights change. Which they do. I nail it, dump the clutch, wheelspin a yard before getting some traction and beating her to the roundabout. It was actually the passenger in the Peugeot who alerted the driver to the fact that pulling across into my lane wouldn't be a good idea, since I was already there. She had to do a lap of the roundabout to get the exit she wanted.

I was in the diesel Combo van, incidentally.
What a showing-up.

Chill out, keep smiling, and you'll live longer!
And by the way, it's not just Basildon!

For the record, I didn't engage this Escort in battle, generally I refrain - it was the abuse and constant challenging from him. I mean, how long can you tolerate it before you have to let the right foot do the talking. BUT, it's always Basildon where I get the hassle. Always.

Why don't we get a posse of TVR's and just cruise through Basildon. Should give the max power boys something to think about eh?

Never had a problem myself... and given I used to work there, I've spent more than my fair share of time there too...

Me too Supraman & Podie. No trouble in Basildon and I park my TVR in the center car parks with nooo trouble. The local lads respect TVR's - you must have met someone from outside the area.

The southern city of Basra. I have the pleasure of spending the majority of my weekday 9-5 in this fine town.
Like another world, compared to the rest of Essex.

Take the scum of London, stick them in a new town, let them inbreed for 30 years and heh presto- black escort driving retards, and these are the ones who actually have the intelligence to leave their house.

Interestingly, another thread notes that "Escort" is an anagram of "Scrote".

Unfortunately I have to work there. There are nice bits to Basildon believe me, I always find it a nice picture when I see it disappear in my rear view mirror. Sorry to every one that lives there by the way, that's not an apology, just sympathy.

Had matey in his scrotemobile trying it on on Sunday, it's so satisfying tho to see them blasted away.
