I am starting a new series of shoots for a construction company and as its sods law that most of the days it will rain. So I was wondering if anyone had seen a clamp or other device for securing a golf umbrella or the like to a tripod. I am shooting MF Digital so waterproof covers are not going to be any good. Any ideas?

That looks like it may work, although when the tripod is set up and the legs are at an angle so the umbrella would be as well. I think I need something that rotates at the umbrella end. If you get what i mean?

How about a golf trolley umbrella holder? They are adjustable.

I'm not sure the clamp will fit around the tripod leg, it is a manfrotto 58

It's not a cheap option, but a Magic Arm with a couple of superclamps will do the job, and be extremely useful for lots of other things.

If you can find the Arri version it's cheaper - I paid £75, including the two clamps.

Using a bit of lateral thinking...

How about a pushchair brolly?

Designed to clamp onto pushchair handles and keep the "pushee & pusher" dry!

Could be just the ticket and less than £30 as well (no doubt cheaper options are available!)
