A guilt-free gin and tonic

For months my Virginia Creeper has been overtaking my house. For weeks my lawn has been gowing shaggier and shaggier. When it was raining I wanted to go and deal with these things, but couldn't because it was raining. When it wasn't raining I always had something better to do (like surf PH) and always mananged to put the tasks off until it was raining again.
Today I finally got the mower out and ground my way through the soggy lawn. Then I got up on a ladder and hacked half a rainforest off my house. Then I went round the other side and hacked the other half rainforest off. Bloody great piles of Virginia Creeper too heavy to lift!
It gets better. I cram, stuff and otherwise heave some of the rainforest into my car and take it to the local tip. Sorry, recycling centre - one of the few useful things my local Council provides. Not worth a grand a year but anyway, I digress. Return home and cram remaining heap of rainforest into car and tip it too.
Still not content. Obviously my biorhythms are peaking today! I rake the lawn, sweep the many stray leaves up, and even vacuum the debris out of the car.
Still not content! Then I wash the goddamn car as well!
Am now enjoying a large G&T and scoffing McCoys Roast Ham & Mustard crisps. Life is good

Sounds like yesterday for us!
Not one to make lists, I actually made a list of jobs that needed doing, including a trip to the 'recycling' centre (expected it to be heaving, there were about 4 cars), washing the car, checking cars for problems (GT4 has an ABS error code we needed to flash, Alfa has a hand brake cable hanging loose), painting the en-suite and sorting out flooring for it also.
Got all of that done and treated ourselves to Sirloin steak, sweetcorn, asparagus and a jacket spud on the BBQ, washed down with a rather nice red (Orgio in Asda for about £4).
Today I have mostly been in a field running around like a mad thing on an inflatable obstacle course (It's A Knockout in fact) all for charidee.
So yes, treat time tonight for us again I think.

I've had a rather "holier than thou" day too. After taking some flowers and chocolates round to the in-laws to thank them for cat-sitting, (ok, I watched the F1 whilst having lunch) I attacked the front garden with the cutters, trimming my bush to the limits!!!
Have swept up all the leaves, weeded the garden, shovelled 10 buckets full of gravel from back to front, and filled the green wheelie bin with garden waste. My dodgy shoulder is playing up now so moto GP and a glass of pink sancerre to accompany the ironing, then a bath, then Mr Pitstop is home from work.
All in all, a good days work!
