Can you travel within the EC/EU with a driving licence...or is a passport required?

That is all, thanks!

Passport still. Sorry. Driving licence fine for Ireland though.

You need a passport I believe.

Lots of reasons (including us being non-schengen)

Bugger it! I knew Ireland was a goer, but I thought my friend was wrong when she mentioned the EU.

Oh well, looks like I'll have to await my passport then.

All the Spaniards do it wit their ID cards but we don't have such a thing so need a passport.

One of my worst moments at an airport was when I got to the gate on an Ireland flight and they announced for everyone to come forward with their passports open. Of course I knew I didn't need a passport but when they announce it at the gate you second guess yourself and wonder if the rules have change in the past few months! Change of underwear time.
