Just trying to find out the weather for the weekend as I need to finish painting my fence. First port of call, the BBC:

Hmmmm.... irked

Next port of call, Metcheck:

Ah! confused

So I've got no bloody idea what the weather is going to be like or whether I should attempt to paint my fence.

It will rain every day from now on until April 2009, where we will see one day of sun and then it's back to rain.

Ive noticed that the weather reports have always been wrong of late and it annoys the hell out of me! Says its going to rain, so i leave the bike in the shed and agree to accompany the current Ms HBM on a shopping trip then spend all day trapesing round shops in glorious sunshine when i could have been creating kneeslider dust! oooooooh Angry.

Cant be hard can it? Watch weather from Satelitte, predict where its going, tell us. Used to work.

It only rained twice in Cumbria this year.

Once for 5 months then again for 6 months.

Having studied the weather websites for daily for 6 months, as part of my role on a construction job, I can advise that they ALL get it wrong, but weather.com gets it right more often than the others hehe

I have come to the conclusion that if I waited for the perfect forecast to do anything, I would probably end up spending my entire life indoors. Therefore, I have started to pretty much ingone the weather forecast as they appear to be more and more useless as time goes by. It's a case of too much information I suspect. I would make a decision on Sunday morning.

Wouldn't bother with the BBC's weather. It's been consistently wrong for a long time now.

British weather forecast (to be applied at any time)

"Some unsettled weather, with periods of rain and some sunshine."

Thanks. Weather.com says it'll be partly couldy with a 10% chance of rain, so I shall take that as gospel and blame you if it's wrong. biggrin

Let me put it this way, Gaffer stopped at mine the other week & we wanted the rain to stop long enough for her to drive to Manchester, Sunday all the others said rain all week, Weather.com said dry on Tuesday. We took the gamble, it was dry biggrin

Wake up, open curtains, is it raining? If Yes, back to bed, if no, get up and get painting.

In between remember that it's Monza F1, British Superbikes from Croft and LMES from Silverstone.

The 24 hour forecasts are regularly different to the first day on the 5 day forecasts.

Is pretty good, in that it offers satellite pictures showing cloud cover and where it's raining now-ish. With wind direction thrown in at least you can get an idea of the likleihood of rain.

And if you're painting, try the Wickes Master exterior paints range - they are water based and dry in an hour.

I'm not sure whether being an 'extreme weather expert' means he's 'extreme' or whether the weather he's an expert in is.....
