I heard the other day that the company TVR was set up by a guy called Trevor. He decided that to call his cars Trevor was a bit sad, so dropping the vowels, he came up with TVR.
I actually don't know the origin of the name, so I wondered if anyone here might be able to verify the above theory?

Teds right, they actually started life as Trevcar motors!! Changed to TVR not long after. And Trevor Wilkinson is alive and kicking and living in Menorca. I met him in Blackpool two years ago and had a great chat with him and like a saddo I had my picture taken with him standing next to my Griffith!!!

..and, whats sad about that?
Sad is when someone keeps a plastic throw away dog bone that his own (I pretend wifes) dog steals off PW dog at the factory. I still have it after two years, unmarked since its removal!!
