Is Pistonhead's over Modded?

Seem's in the past year or 2 PH had had a huge amount of quickly closed topics.
is it due to new member pushing there luck?
Or old member trying there luck?
over modding of the fourms?
I have never had a topic closed yet, Just intrested to know what other think

I don't think so. Topics usually get closed because they are repeats or just plain stupid drunken ramblings. Genuine topics generally run until the point where it gets necessary to close them as far as I can see.

I do not wish this to get a sla'gging match, just intrested to know what others think. if for some strange reason it was locked I would hope to know why.

but know and hope the mod's are also intrested to find out what PH member think too

Wait till the moderators get fed up and the place becomes like some of the other 'less moderated' websites then see what it's like.

I think they are doing a great job. After the sellout the modding became a bit more relaxed and I thought it was a bit cack in here.

I think now the balance is just right. Without firm moderation this place would be really st.

Need an option for sometimes.

Most of the time it isn't bad at all, other times you want to beat the hell out of the mod that closed a topic asking them what the hell is their major malfunction.

I still seem to keep coming back though.

Oh and never been in the bin, and can't ever recall being responsible for a thread closure...yet.

I've only been on here a couple of years but I feel the forums have got quieter in the last six months. Whether this is down to over moderation or the rise of better forums I don't know.

I think the mods here do a great job Its one of the better sites as far as moderation is concerned actually.
Of the topics i've seen locked or wiped, they were really asking for it anyway. I don't think i've seen a single locked post and ever thought it was done unnecessarily.
In fact, in the P&P at least, it's pretty relaxed going on some of the crap that gets posted and stays. If anyone wants to post worse drivel than we have already and is worried its going to be locked or wiped, then I reckon you came to the wrong forum and would be better off elsewhere anyway.

IBTL - Woohoo!

It was very over-modded when Haymarket first took over but it seems to have settled down nicely now. I would say it is usually about right.

Of course there are always exceptions but nobodys perfect.

Unfortunately I think there is still a lot of this. Lots of new threads on topics that were recently discussed and could easily be found by the search facility.
