I am looking into the possibility of having a dedicated grouping of fellow TVRs to race and try out the strip at York dragway.

I need to get an idea of numbers that would be turning up.
There would be slots throughout the day for our group and i think we would get at least 6 runs each.
Running your car on the drag strip is very straightforward (no pun intended).
Just sign on, get in the queue, roll up to the line then go on green (or ideally 0.5 seconds from amber!).
The timing slip for your run will tell you your reaction time from amber,
60 foot time, 1/8 mile time and speed, 1/4 mile time and speed.
All intereting bar room numbers to have or maybe you just want to win that grudge match race with a friend or foe.
One thing to beware tho.... its very addictive and much more fun than you would anticipate.

Its early days yet but would be interesting to know how many would be interested.

I will be at York dragway on the 21st of this month racing so why not come see how much fun it is.

PS. Ive posted this on the TVRCC forum and already have 4 tuscans and a T350 interested.
Hopefully be more non club members on here who would like some fun.

On the Sunday?
Yet to finalise a date and York have yet to sort their calendar.
Nowt worse than a clash for people wanting to do both.
Had that problem at enough music festivals.

Fly Boy (I think) is referring to the 21st Sept (Dales Run) not next Easter Sunday ?

Is a bit confusing wink

I think if you removed the Easter Sunday 2009 completely, it might be even clearer.

Sorry Derek for the confusion
I did misread the date as Paul guessed...paperbag
I read the post yesterday in a hurry, at work just before dashing out of the office....
What I meant to type but didn't have the time was more along the lines of...

Yes I'm interested but NYTVRCC have a run on the 21st September.
Next Easter now sounds much better.
Put me on the list please.

Chris

Hi Derek

I am definately interested after watching you a few weeks ago,
although I am definately not lining up against you!!!!!!!

Also I had my first go a couple of years ago in my 350i Wedge
with the West Yorkshire TVRCC and thoroughly enjoyed it

There are quite a few interested to do it again from the WYTVRCC
so let me know a date and I will bring it up at the next meeting
and post it as an event.

I know the guys from NY and SY were also interested
Let me know if you want the ROs email addresses

Dont worry about running against me.
They aint all 12.2 second runs. Vary upto 14 without nitrous and wheelspin.
My worst run was a 19... forgot to turn the bottle on, car bogged with too much fuel and i gave up.... was last run of the day!

I will be at York a week on Sunday 21st, so maybe see you then.
It looks like the official event will be Easter nect year but thats yet to confirm.
PM me the RO addresses please.
Got over a dozen interested already.

Derek, you have my RO and home addresses and I will gladly send emails out to our South-yorks members of any info you want me to send out, I am very interested but won't be going down the strip, I would however be armed with still's camera, video camera and in car bullet cam as well, so as to try and catch as much as possible, my attempt from last time can be found on youtube by searching 01142kevin63 keep us informed Derek, I loved it last time.

Being so close distance wise it would seem churlish not to put my name down for this. So, another T350 if that is ok

If you can confirm a date I'm interested, I have to work every other weekend though so it depends on when, If I'm off include an S1. Looking forward to being embarrassed by lots of newer TVR's lol.
