Why am I pissed off with them this time?

Tax? no. Motoring/Road policies? no. Idiotic economic policy? no.

Thier bloody party conference in Manchester clashes with the week I need to be here for work, cant get a hotel without taking out a second mortgage!

And I'm sure I'm not alone...

The buggers should naff off back to blackpool, nobody in thier right mind ever goes there anyway.

Instead they stuff up the city for a week and get in the way of people trying to work hard and prop up the ailing economy of UK PLC.

grumble grumble..

These are key road pricing cities.

Birmingham has said 'no' once, Manchester is doing all it can through cronyism etc to push ahead regardless.

The hotel I'm in now is crawling with police, putting all the fire extinguishers through an X-ray machine?!?!?!

I guess they are staying at the Radisson Edwardian on Peter Street then, if anyone wants to go and hurl abuse.

Birmingham City Council: After the local elections on 1 May 2008, there remains no overall control, with the 120 seats being divided between the Conservative (49 councillors), Labour, (36), Liberal Democrat (32) parties and Respect (3).

Manchester City Council:
Labour 61
Liberal Democrats 34
Conservative 1

Even they are asking silly money, I found a 3* for £130 a night until Wednesday (when the conference ends) then drops to £50 a night!!

Quit annoying really as you can normally get a 4* or 5* for well under £100 via one of the online booking agencies.

If you're driving, try somewhere ---> Cheshire ---> Derbyshire.

Fairly easy to get into Manchester from there, via the airport, say Chapel-en-le-Frith > Whaley Bridge > Pott Shrigley (Shrigley Hall Hotel?) > Adlington > Dean Row > Styal > Man airport > M56 > Manchester.
