O/T - Devon/Cornwall hotel recomendations

Heading down there shortly, maybe in the Tamora (depends on the number of passengers) but looking for some recomendations on places to stay. Ideally want to be up to 1 hour east of St Austel, doesn't have to be on the coast, but might be nice. Want a fairly nice hotel, walking distance to a town/village (for a pub etc). Any ideas? Thanks.

50 minutes from St Austell according to the AA although I would have thought slightly more than that myself

The Wellington Hotel in Boscastle used to be one of my favourites especially off season for quiet evening walks and there's a pretty good restaraunt in Boscastle to.
